When I went to Blissdom in February, one of the evening parties was sponsored by ConAgra. As a result, one of our beverage options for the night was a hot cocoa martini. It sounded odd to me, I had a hard time taking the hot out of hot cocoa, but it was free and it was chocolate, so I was game!
Despite my reluctance at first, I have to admit I quickly warmed up to the idea of ice cold hot cocoa in a martini glass! Tonight, I recreated the drink at home and I have to say, I actually like mine better!
Ingredients:
- 1 hot cocoa packet
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1oz whipped cream vodka
- ice
Directions:
- Wet the rim of a martini glass and coat with hot cocoa. If you’re making more than one of these in an evening, just open an extra packet and put it on a plate to make life easier. For one, I just opened the packet along 3 sides, coated the rim and then put it in the jar I used for mixing.
- Combine all ingredients in a Mason jar, or a martini shaker if you’re cool like that. I, for one, am not!
- Pour into martini glass, using the edge of the lid to hold back the ice.
- Top with whipped cream or marshmallows, your choice!
Simple as that! Just make sure you shake it really well to dissolve the hot cocoa powder!
