FREE Sample

If you’re one of those super organized people who got your Christmas cards months ago, you can stop reading, unless you’re already planning your cards for next year, in which case this could be useful information!  Those of you who procrastinate like I do want to have the absolute most recent picture of your kids possible sent to friends and family, keep on reading!

A couple of years ago, I wasn’t planning on getting Christmas cards at all, but then I got the perfect picture of Miss Mack, sitting in one of those mall stroller car things, Gloria Jean’s cup in hand and whipped cream on her nose.  How could I NOT send this to everyone I knew and then send the extras to random addresses throughout the country???  Okay, they didn’t go to strangers…

I took the disc up to Walmart (you know, because no one take PICTURES anywhere anymore) and slapped it into their template.  It really was that easy!  And about an hour later (because one-hour photo rarely means one hour…) I had the cards ready to put in envelopes and send out!  I think that if I run out of cards this year, I’m getting some of the design above!

Ingredients

• 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 3/4 cup white sugar
• 1 pinch salt
• 1/3 cup boiling water
• 3 1/2 cups milk
• 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup half-and-half cream

Directions

Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn’t scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature
